Our Story
In 2015, Dr. Brian Dansie and his wife Rachel drove across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge for the first time. Awestruck by the beauty of Puget Sound, Mt. Rainier and the fishing boats below, they looked at each other and said, “Wow!” It only got better from there when Dr. Brian caught his first ever king salmon. He was hooked on the Northwest – pun intended.
Having grown up in a small town in the desert valley of Utah, the Dansie’s had never seen so much water and greenery. Their current home in Northern California was sunny, but this was even better. They packed up their three young children and moved to the green, sometimes gray, Gig Harbor.
Shortly after, Dr. Brian had an opportunity to buy The Kids’ Dentist, a wonderful 40+ year-old established practice in Renton. The practice continued to thrive, as he nurtured a patient-first, happy culture for kids. In 2018, seeing the same need in the quiet little harbor town his family had grown to love, he opened The Kids’ Dentist “Gig Harbor.”
Fortunately, Dr. Brian’s friend Dr. Jared Roberts had returned to his home state of Washington with his wife Crystal and their own three young children. Dr. Jared brought his caring, friendly demeanor to both The Kids’ Dentist in Renton and Gig Harbor.
In 2020, a retiring pediatric practitioner in the Renton highlands near Newcastle approached Dr. Brian and Dr. Jared about adding her practice to theirs, and The Kids’ Dentist “Highlands” was born. This latest addition offered the opportunity to add another talented and compassionate practitioner, Dr. Krisha Misa, who is also from Washington and is the embodiment of “having a good day.”
It has taken a lot of hard work to fulfill this dream, decades in the making, but the pediatric dentists at The Kids’ Dentist Washington wouldn’t have done it any other way. Our goal is to be the office that families happily choose for the dental care of their children. It’s the positive vision in everything we do.
